ILLNESS

Judy is married to the love of her life, Gordy since August of 1981. Although they lived most of their lives in Minnesota, they moved to the beautiful state of Tennessee in 2013. In September of 2018, they moved back to Minnesota to be close to family.

Judy and Gordy have two hard-working, intelligent adult daughters, two sons-in-law, four beautiful grandchildren and two Husky grand-dogs. Judy is a dog lover. If it were up to her, she would be one of those dog ladies with a home for the homeless dogs.

Judy and Gordy love to go camping and fishing together, and play cards and games with friends and family. She also likes to read, write, paint, craft and quilt.

Judy has almost 30 years of human services experience: from Direct Care Staff to corporate level management. She also owned and operated a residential facility for women with dual diagnosis of physical, developmental and mental health challenges. She is a consultant for those seeking guardianship, opening and operating foster and waivered group homes, facilitates trainings and consults staff as well as assist with licensing related issues.

Judy worked closely with Child Protection Services (CPS), family court and law enforcement as a Guardian ad Litem and a Custody Resolution Specialist. She passed the CPS Social Services Merit Exams in the State of Minnesota.

With her education and experience, she has the desire to teach the many

facets of the human services field. And her heart is to reach out to those

in crisis – the tough stuff.
